Conference dinner (Wednesday 25 February 2025, 7.30 p.m.)

You are also kindly invited to join us for an alternative conference dinner that fits the spirit of CLADES: a convivial, low-threshold evening designed to help us connect across languages, places, and perspective, and to keep the conversation going beyond the panels.

We’ll gather in the cosy KASK Café for an all-vegan, buffet-style dinner (easy to join, easy to mingle), with plenty of space for spontaneous table-hopping, meeting new people, and catching up with familiar faces in a relaxed setting. After dinner, the music might stay on a little longer and play a little louder, just a relaxed way to end the day together.

Alternative City Walk: Ghent through a different lens

We are also organising a guided walk that offers a different view of Ghent’s history: labour and class, migration, colonial entanglements, housing, and ecological (in)justice in the city. Instead of the usual tourist highlights, we’ll look at how power, space and environment intersect in everyday urban life.
